British Orthodontic Society at 30
2024 is an extremely important year – it marks 30 years since the orthodontic societies in the UK unified to form the British Orthodontic Society (BOS) and this was the starting point for the BOS being recognised nationally and internationally as the voice of orthodontics in the UK.
The British Orthodontic Society was formed following many years of hard work in which the existing orthodontic societies in the UK unified to form a single society to act as the voice of UK orthodontics. The first BOS Council meeting took place on 22nd July 1994 at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London and the first full meeting of the BOS Council was at the British Orthodontic Society Conference in Harrogate on 2nd October 1994.
This is an incredibly special event which marks 30 years of the Society supporting both patients and clinicians in providing the highest quality patient care. As we reflect on the achievements of the last 30 years, it is also important that we look forward to the next 30 years.
