Dentaid’s mobile dental units visit soup kitchens, night shelters and day centres with volunteer dental professionals providing free treatment and oral health advice. We also provide this service for victims of domestic violence, asylum seekers and refugees, people living with drug and alcohol addiction and fishing communities who often struggle to see a dentist. By taking dental care to a location where they feel safe and comfortable, we can break down barriers and change people’s lives. After receiving treatment, our patients say they feel more confident and the fact they are out of pain helps them to access recovery programmes, seek employment opportunities and move on to a new phase in their lives. 

Dentaid runs clinics in the northwest, northeast and the south of England but after the pandemic, demand for our services is greater than ever and we are starting new clinics all the time – setting up regular visits so our patients have a reliable, sustainable dental service. 

In addition to dentistry, it’s about listening to our patients, showing we care and taking the time to help them out of pain, teach them about dental health and restore their smiles. We couldn’t do this work without our amazing team of volunteers and we have an ever-increasing number of volunteering opportunities for dental nurses, dentists and assistants to help with the running of our clinics.
