Andrew Gulson has worked for the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) since 1989. Andrew is a certificated radiation protection adviser and medical physics expert and provides advice to a wide range of users of ionising radiation. He specialises in dental radiation protection and as part of UKHSA’s Dental X-ray Protection Services has been instrumental in the development of national guidance on dental cone-beam CT and hand-held dental X-ray equipment. He also led the working party that drafted the second edition of the Guidance Notes for Dental Practitioners on the Safe Use of Dental X-ray Equipment, which was published in 2020.
