Zehra is an experienced academic with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. She is currently an assistant professor and honorary StR in restorative dentistry (School of Dentistry, University of Birmingham). Having completed her Master’s of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Paris, with honours, she then completed her PhD, funded by the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) and Diabetes UK, as part of her Doctoral Research Fellowship (DRF). Her research interests lie in the fields of epidemiology and the interface between oral and systemic diseases. Zehra has held positions on several national and international panels. Most recently she was on the NICE diabetes guideline update panel. She is also on the Diabetes UK Council of healthcare professionals.
