The aim of this lecture is to improve dental professionals’ awareness and understanding of narcissistic and domestic abuse, its potential impact on patients, colleagues, families and the dental team, and the role of dental professionals in recognising concerns, communicating sensitively and signposting individuals towards appropriate support.
Aims
Recognise behaviours and warning signs associated with narcissistic and domestic abuse - Understand their impact on psychological wellbeing, family relationships, children, work and help-seeking - Communicate sensitively with those affected, including colleagues and team members, while signposting them to appropriate support.
