A pilot study conducted in a specialist periodontal referral practice during 2022 and 2023 will be presented. The study informs the development of trustable knowledge and specifically the topic specific-words patients reported would offer them greatest motivation.
It’s recognised that in healthcare discussion content needs to be topic specific, however in the oral health field there are no studies
Aims
To impart the knowledge to allow participants to conduct their own pilot study and/or audit.
To demonstrate the steps required to conduct this kind of pilot study in dental practice.
To describe the method, materials, results and conclusions of the pilot study.
To show how the use of standardised topic-specific soundbites across the dental team reduces misunderstanding and increases satisfaction.
