British Endodontic Society Dr Phil Tomson - President

The British Endodontic Society (BES) is hosting its annual Regional Meeting at the Belfry Hotel & Resort in Birmingham – 21-22 November 2025. This is the ideal opportunity for those with an interest in endodontics to immerse themselves in two days of education, networking, and relaxation.

With the theme for this year “Small things matter” the BES invites you to join in on the fun this autumn and see for yourself all that the event has to offer.

Escape to the countryside!

Situated just 20 minutes north-east of Birmingham, the Belfry Hotel & Resort is nestled in the beautiful countryside away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. It offers guests the perfect opportunity to extend their stay and enjoy some rest and relaxation, making the most of its spa facilities and outstanding golf course.

Home of the British Masters and four-time host of the Ryder Cup, the Belfry is synonymous with golf, witnessing some of the most iconic golfing moments in history. Why not take the opportunity to play on the award-winning courses – The Brabazon, PGA National, and The Derby – whilst you’re there? Or, if you’d prefer to unwind, why not escape to the resort’s luxury spa? With a number of indulgent treatments on offer, take a moment to relax, rejuvenate, and recharge.

Phil Tomson, President of the BES, discusses the upcoming meeting:

“I am really excited about this year’s Regional Meeting, that will be held at The Belfry Hotel and Resort which is a venue close to my heart. It is an excellent setting for this meeting as it will create a real community atmosphere for us to catch-up with old colleagues/friends, learn about the discipline we love and have some fun along the way. We are looking forward to hearing from some absolutely fabulous speakers, who will cover a wide range of topics relating to endodontics. I hope this will be a fun and enriching experience for all of our attendees and a memorable event.”

An excellent educational programme

Delegates will enjoy numerous sessions presented by experts in the field, enabling attendees to immerse themselves in the world of endodontics covering key topics and learning amongst friends and colleagues.

The conference will begin with a range of table clinics:

  • Dr Julian Webber: Getting the most out of your operating microscope.
  • Dr Kreena Patel: Margins, matrices and moisture control – creating an ideal tooth tissue/material interface in compromised situations.
  • Dr Roberto Careddu: Handling the pulp – a surgical approach to managing soft tissue.
  • Dr Marcela Salamanca Ramos: Autotransplantation, when and how! Making the most of biologically available tissues.

Accommodating the interests of a wide range of attendees, these small group sessions offer a unique opportunity for close intellectual contact with speakers and the chance to ask burning questions, sparking interesting conversations.

Beginning on Friday afternoon, delegates will enjoy lectures from a range of leading experts:

  • Professor Ken Hargreaves: A bostin’ guide to preventing a bawlin’ – Pain prevention through ideal local anaesthesia, and pain management through pharmacological means.
  • Professor Stéphane Simon: Obturation – To pack or not to pack? That is the question!
  • Dr Nestor Tzimpoulas: Picking up the pieces after the Peaky Blinders – Managing the consequences of dental trauma (immediate and late)
  • Dr Guillaume Jouanny: Grafting your way to success – what’s achievable with endodontic microsurgery?

The conference will conclude with an expert panel discussion, allowing attendees to learn from the experts, and take the opportunity to ask questions within a supportive and encouraging setting.

Join us for dinner!

This year’s Conference Dinner will be a Peaky Blinders theme, with attendees encouraged to enter into the spirit of the theme and dust off their tuxedo or flat cap to enjoy a fun meal and band on the evening of Friday 21st November.

In past years, the Conference Dinner has been a highlight of the Regional Meeting, and the BES is delighted to be hosting the evening in the Woodlands Suite, Belfry Hotel.

What to expect?

The BES is NOT a specialist society, any dental professional with an interest in endodontics is more than welcome to join. The Regional Meeting is geared to all levels, ensuring there is something to suit everyone’s interests. Educational sessions discuss the latest research and technological developments whilst keeping the content accessible – meaning everyone will benefit from what’s on offer and have some clinical tips that they can introduce into their clinical practise the following week.
