Crown Dental Burs Ltd Introduces a New Era of Dental Education

Crown Dental Burs Ltd Introduces a New Era of Dental Education

At Crown Dental Burs Ltd, we believe exceptional dentistry is built on three essential foundations: the right instruments, the right techniques and the right education.

While we are recognised for supplying high-quality dental burs and rotary instruments, our ambition has always extended beyond products. We want to help dental professionals understand how the instruments they use can contribute to predictable, precise and efficient clinical outcomes.

That philosophy has led to the launch of our expanding Crown Dental Training education programme — bringing together respected clinicians, Key Opinion Leaders and experienced educators to provide practical, clinically relevant education for today's dental professionals.

Education Before Product

Modern dentistry is continually evolving. Advances in restorative materials, digital workflows, aesthetic dentistry and minimally invasive techniques mean that clinicians must constantly develop their knowledge and skills.

Selecting the correct dental bur can also be challenging. With thousands of shapes, sizes, diameters and grit options available, knowing a bur number is only part of the process. Understanding why a particular bur is selected, how it should be used and where it fits into the overall clinical workflow is far more valuable.

This is where Crown Dental Training aims to make a difference.

Our philosophy is straightforward: learn techniques from clinicians who use them successfully in everyday practice.

Our education programme brings together experts across areas including restorative dentistry, crown and veneer preparation, prosthodontics, aesthetic dentistry, endodontics, digital dentistry, minimally invasive dentistry and finishing and polishing.

Rather than focusing simply on products, our courses are centred around clinical excellence, practical techniques and predictable results.

Where dental burs and rotary instruments form part of the teaching, they are selected because they support the technique being demonstrated. This allows delegates to develop a better understanding of the relationship between instrument selection and clinical outcomes.

Learning From Leading Clinicians

A key part of Crown Dental Training is our commitment to working with highly respected clinicians and KOLs.

Our courses are designed around real-world dentistry, giving delegates the opportunity to learn techniques, protocols and workflows from clinicians who have extensive experience in their chosen fields.

Depending on the course, education may include lectures, clinical demonstrations, hands-on exercises, treatment planning and practical workflows.

The goal is simple: delegates should leave with more than theoretical knowledge. They should leave with practical techniques and greater confidence that can be applied in their own clinical practice.

Upcoming Course: Anterior Indirect Restorations with Dr Mahul Patel

Our next education event takes place on Friday 16th October 2026, when Crown Dental Training welcomes Dr Mahul Patel to NSK Stevenage for a full-day hands-on course focused on Anterior Indirect Restorations.

The course runs from 9.00am to 4.30pm and costs £595.

Dr Mahul Patel graduated from King's College London in 2002 before completing the MJDF examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2009.

He subsequently completed two Master's degrees at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute — Restorative Dental Practice in 2010 and Conservative Dentistry in 2012. His Master's in Conservative Dentistry was awarded with Distinction, alongside the 3M ESPE postgraduate prize for excellence in clinical and academic achievement.

Mahul later gained Membership in Prosthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2014.

His clinical and research interests include aesthetic and implant dentistry, endodontics, advanced tooth wear, crown preparation techniques and restorative dental materials. He has presented and published extensively on these subjects at local, national and international levels.

He is also co-author of the Springer Nature textbook Adhesive Techniques in Restorative Dentistry.

Mahul is a former Specialty Dentist in Prosthodontics at King's College Dental Hospital, where he spent nine years working within the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Traumatology.

Today, he works in private referral practice in London and is a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute and a Senior Clinical Teacher at King's College London Dental Institute.

He is also a Key Opinion Leader, Advisor and Clinical Instructor for several multinational dental companies and regularly provides lectures, seminars and hands-on restorative courses in the UK and internationally.

His extensive clinical, academic and teaching experience makes this an exciting opportunity for dentists looking to develop their knowledge and practical skills in anterior indirect restorations.

More Than a Dental Bur Company

Crown Dental Burs Ltd has always believed that our responsibility extends beyond supplying dental instruments.

Our specialist knowledge of rotary instruments has developed through our partnership with Frank Dental GmbH, combining German engineering and precision manufacturing with our understanding of the needs of modern dental professionals.

This knowledge naturally forms an important part of Crown Dental Training.

A dentist may know which bur to select for a particular preparation, but understanding why that bur is appropriate, what it is designed to achieve and how it fits into the complete clinical sequence can transform the way rotary instruments are used.

We want clinicians to think beyond simply asking:

“Which bur should I use?”

Instead, we encourage them to consider:

“Why am I using it?”

“What am I trying to achieve?”

“Why has this shape, diameter or grit been selected?”

“How does this instrument fit into my overall clinical workflow?”

This approach turns bur selection from something that is simply memorised into something that is properly understood.

A Growing Programme of Dental Education

The Anterior Indirect Restorations course with Dr Mahul Patel is an important part of the new Crown Dental Training programme, but it is only the beginning.

Our ambition is to establish Crown Dental Training as a destination for high-quality, practical dental education in the UK, working with outstanding clinicians across a broad range of disciplines.

Future courses will cover areas including restorative dentistry, crown and veneer preparation, prosthodontics, aesthetic dentistry, digital workflows, endodontics, minimally invasive dentistry, composite dentistry and finishing and polishing.

New speakers, course dates, venues and programme details will be added to our online education platform as they become available.

Building a Community Around Better Dentistry

Ultimately, Crown Dental Training is about bringing dental professionals together to share knowledge, learn from experienced clinicians and develop practical skills.

We want delegates to leave our courses with more than a certificate. We want them to leave with new ideas, improved techniques and greater clinical confidence.

At Crown Dental Burs Ltd, we believe better dentistry comes from continually learning, questioning and improving.

Our dental burs are designed to support clinicians in achieving precision and consistency. Our education programme is designed to help clinicians understand the techniques and principles behind their use.

Crown Dental Burs Ltd supplies the instruments. Crown Dental Training provides the knowledge behind them.

As the programme continues to grow, we look forward to welcoming dental professionals from across the UK and beyond to our courses and creating a community built around education, innovation and clinical excellence.
