The Society of British Dental Nurses have a number of special interest groups and are delighted to support and contribute to the work of the Human Factors in Dentistry Group which has a central focus on patient safety sciences. The session presented by the Society titled Ensuring psychological safety will focus on psychological safety from a Human Factors perspective and hopefully raise awareness of the need for a cultural change. Find the session at Dentistry Show London in the Dental Care Professionals Hub at 10:15am on Saturday 4th October.
Established for a number of years the Society prides itself in recognising excellence in dental nursing and celebrating successes, success is not simply recognised through qualifications, or years of service but by contribution, insight and an aspiration for the profession.
Dental nurses are often overlooked and progression seems to be a constant in conversations, articles, blogs and discussions but the Society has frequently questioned why none of these have become actions or reality. It is hoped that as our work progresses with the Human Factors Group that more dental nurses will become self aware and align themselves with this work to enable a different future.
Come and listen to the session and start to look at the profession though a different lens.
