Dr Cher Farrugia is a clinical academic dentist currently based in Bristol, where she combines clinical work with teaching and research at the University of Bristol and periodontology speciality training at the Bristol Dental Hospital. Her research focuses on the oral-systemic link, host-pathogen interactions and periodontology. Cher has presented her research internationally, published in high impact journals and received awards including the BSP Sir Wilfred Fish Prize and BSODR President’s Prize. She is passionate about patient-centred, holistic dental care and is an active member of several clinical and research societies, including the BSP ECG where she is currently serving as the mono specialty representative.
