Dr Emily Lu is a Consultant in Periodontology at Guy's Hospital and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, King’s College London. She completed her specialist training in Periodontology, culminating in a Masters in Clinical Dentistry from King’s College London and Membership in Periodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. She continued her passion for academia and was awarded a PhD in Periodontology from King’s College London. Dr Lu’s research expertise span discovery, translational and clinical sciences. Her lab is investigating the role of vitamin D in innate immunity and epithelial defence.
