Fiona is the Executive Director of the Society of British Dental Nurses and Chair of the National Oral Health Promotion Group. and the Co-Chair of the Mental Health Wellness in Dentistry group, providing a link to MindsetUK. Fiona is also one of the driving members of the Dental Professional Alliance. She is the former academic lead for dental nursing and a lecturer on Interprofessional Education at Bangor University and a Current (Hon) Senior Lecturer at Portsmouth University. She holds external examiner roles, as well as being an education associate for the GDC and an overseas registration panel member. Fiona is one of the founders of the International Federation of Dental Assistants and Nurses and the founder of the Dental Nurse Historian group and Human Factors in Dentistry. Fiona has an interest in the drivers of maintaining dental nursing talent and the equity of opportunity for dental nurses, looking closely at non-traditional roles and job fulfilment.
