Jocelyn Harding, known as Joss, began her dental career in 1987 as a dental nurse in the Royal Navy before qualifying as a dental hygienist in 1992. Since 2016, Joss has been widely published in both national and international medical and dental journals and publications. Her 2017 article remains the second most-accessed article published by the BDJ Team. In 2018, she was invited to become a Clinical Ambassador for the Mouth Cancer Foundation. She completed her MSc in 2023 and subsequently published a peer-reviewed textbook that has received international recognition and been reviewed in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Her MSc research was published in the International Journal of Dental Hygiene in 2025. In 2026, Joss had the great honour of becoming President of the Mouth Cancer Foundation. She is passionate about improving outcomes for people affected by head and neck cancer. She is committed to supporting patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals by providing evidence-based oral healthcare education, guidance, and advocacy.
